Sunbowl!

Cool things about El Paso.  It's a fairly big city with the nearest big city (besides Ciudad Juarez) being hours away.  It's also a university town.  Because of these two things we have a vibrant but navigable downtown and a fair number of special events, one being the Sunbowl.  I figured that someday we would catch a game, but as we have extremely charitable neighbors, someday became today, the 80th annual Sunbowl, where UCLA stomped the Virginia Tech Hokies 42-12.

The stadium is pretty neat, built into a hill with views of Mexico and the weather was awesome.  Taking the kids to the game seemed like a fun family event and even though they are smiling in the pictures they didn't really love it.  What they did love was the Sunbowl Fiesta at the convention center the night before with all sorts of entertainment and games to stand in line for.  Three Dog Night played and sounded surprisingly amazing and the night was capped off with some fireworks.  Just a usual Monday night in El Paso.
